Real-Time Video Track and Video Event FX

The Real-Time Video Event FX (Video Clip FX) affect a single video clip (event) only. They are accessed through this symbol on the video clip:

The Real-Time Video Track FX affect all the clips (events) within a video track. They are accessed through this symbol in the video track:

The Video Output FX access all clips in all video tracks and is accessed through this symbol:

After clicking on the plug-in symbol, the Plug-In Chooser dialog box opens:

After selecting the desired plug-in effect, click on [Add] or [Remove] to manage plug-ins into the effect chain.
Finally click [OK] to close the Plug-In Chooser and display the Video Track FX (or Video Event FX) Window, where the plug-in effect parameters can be edited.
For example, these are the parameters available for the plug-in "Color Corrector":

You can add or remove plug-in FXs to the chain with these two symbols:

If you have more than one plug-in in the chain, you can change their order by dragging the plug-in box symbols in the chain:

Real-Time Audio Track and Master Output FX

Vegas Video 3.0 until version 5.0 support only Direct-X plug-in effects. Vegas Video 6.0 supports also VST plug-in effects.

Real-Time Audio Track FX affect all audio clips within a track. Real-time audio effects per specific audio clip are not supported, however you can apply non-real-time audio effects to a single audio clip R-clicking it with the mouse and selecting "Apply Non-Real-Time Event FX".

Audio Track FX can be accessed with this symbol:

Vegas also support Real-Time Audio FX on the Master Output bus:

Effects placed here will affect all tracks.

After clicking on the plug-in symbol, the Plug-In Chooser dialog box opens:

After selecting the desired plug-in effect, click on [Add] or [Remove] to manage plug-ins into the effect chain.
Finally click [OK] to close the Plug-In Chooser and display the Audio Track FX Window, where the plug-in effect parameters can be edited.
For example, these are the parameters available for the plug-in "Compressor":

Like for Video FX, you can change the order of the plugins in the chain by dragging them with the mouse.
